The application process
Lampe Family Lawyers are able to assist clients in receipt of a grant of aid from Victoria Legal Aid for Family Law parenting matters. *If your matter relates to Intervention Orders or property issues, please contact our office to discuss your options for assistance on a privately paid basis.
Due to the high volume of applications we receive, our firm has a limited capacity to accept new clients wishing to apply for a grant of aid. We will email you if at the time of receiving your enquiry, we do not have capacity to assist you.
Please note that the process including Assessment, lodging your Application and receiving Approval from Victoria Legal Aid can take 6-8 weeks. Victoria Legal Aid are currently experiencing a significant backlog of applications. We therefore request that you remain patient and respectful at all times during the Assessment and Application process.
Preliminary assessment
Victoria Legal Aid has a number of eligibility criteria under their Guidelines. Your eligibility is not only based on your financial situation.
So that we can commence your Victoria Legal Aid Assessment, please ensure to complete all of the information in the form below.
Once we have reviewed your information, we will email you a copy of the Victoria Legal Aid Application Form and request copies of certain financial and other documents from you. We may also ask for further information as part of the Assessment process.
IMPORTANT: WE ARE NOT IN A POSITION TO PROVIDE YOU WITH ANY LEGAL ADVICE UNTIL WE HAVE RECEIVED ALL REQUIRED INFORMATION AND DOCUMENTS TO COMPLETE YOUR ASSESSMENT, LODGED YOUR APPLICATION FORM WITH VICTORIA LEGAL AID, AND YOUR APPLICATION HAS BEEN APPROVED BY VICTORIA LEGAL AID.
